The Setting
Located on the North end of campus, student housing facilities are
surrounded by beautiful lakes complete with a shelter house and a
recreational trail into town. The grounds also include basketball, sand
volleyball and tennis courts as well as the OK House, a non-denominational
‘hang out’ for studying and socializing.
A Place to Live
Each resident has access to a variety of amenities within or adjacent to the
housing complex including study rooms, a computer lab, laundry
facilities, free cable hook-up and basic phone service (students calling
long-distance typically use a calling card or their cell phones), wireless
internet access, rec room
with ping pong and pool tables and a big screen TV, shared kitchen for
special baking needs, exercise equipment (after you’ve done all that
baking!), a vending area, cafeteria, dorm office, mail boxes, tennis courts,
basketball courts, a sand volleyball court, and plenty of FREE parking.
A Place to Learn
Research has shown that students who live on campus frequently have a higher
grade point average. You’ll find several quiet nooks where you can study in
the residence halls, and you can choose to live on a designated quiet floor.
If you need to use a computer, don’t walk to campus; take advantage of the
residence hall computer lab, which is networked to campus and available
around the clock.
A Place to Meet Friends AND Have Fun!
Living in the residence halls gives you an opportunity to meet new people
from across Iowa, other states and even other countries. The residence halls
are coed, housing both men and women on alternating wings or floors. And the
nice thing is you don’t have to leave the building to see your friends or to
get to the dining hall - everything is connected in one facility. Each
floor, comprised of approximately 30 students, sponsors at least three
activities per semester, and many floors choose to sponsor their own
intramural teams. In addition, residents often attend campus activities
together, including sporting events, dances, concerts and other campus
entertainment like comedians, hypnotists, musicians and much more. (Most
events are FREE!)
Who Lives on Campus?
Any enrolled student is eligible for on-campus housing and, by simply
filling out an application and contract, can secure a reservation. The
housing staff encourages all students, especially freshmen, to complete this
process as soon as possible.
