11/08/08 - NIACC Men's team finished 13th at the 2008 NJCAA Division 1 Men's and Women's Cross Country National Championship November 8, in Spartanburg South Carolina. The women finished 18th earning them the best Women's National Championship finish in NIACC's history. Casey Robertson led the men, with a time of 26:54 earning him a 53rd place finish. The women were led by Konnie Keifer who placed 62nd with a time of 20:27. For complete results please visit the Men's & Women's results page.

9/27/08 - Both of NIACC's teams ran strong this past weekend in Davenport at Augustana. The men placed ahead of several solid Midwest NCAA Division III teams regionally and nationally ranked. Juan Rodriguez placed seventh with a time of 25:46 earning him the 3rd all-time for the 8k at NIACC. Casey Robertson finished sixteenth also earning him a NIACC record with the 5th all-time for the 8k (26:22). The Men's team all together finished 5th in the meet out of 28 teams, and a 2nd place finish among only the junior college teams that competed there. Men's Results

The women also ran strong and a third NIACC record was set by Konnie Keifer who finished with a time of 24:58 giving her the 4th all-time for the 6k a NIACC. The Women's team finished 18th out of 27 teams, and a third place finish among only the junior college teams that competed. Women's Results

9/20/08 - The men's team finished 9th Saturday at the St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield, MN. Juan Rodriguez ran another strong race finishing 6th with a time of 25:59. Fellow teammate Raleigh Morgan, a freshman, also ran a solid meet with a 42nd place finish and a time of 28:06. Men's Results

The Trojan women finished 12th with Konnie Keifer (44th/25:36) leading the shorthanded NIACC team. Both Men and Women teams competed with fewer than normal runners Saturday due to illness and injuries. The Trojan teams anticipate that they will have many of their teammates back for the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational at Augustana College this coming Saturday the 27th. Women's Results

9/06/08 - The NIACC men were once again victorious Saturday in Sugar Grove, Illinois at the Chiefs Invitational. The NIACC men took ownership of the first three finishing spots, Juan Rodriguez once again securing a first place victory with a time of 26.45. He was followed by teammates Casey Robertson and Mayai Cobai finishing second and third with the times of 27:15 and 27:28 respectively. Men's Results

9/06/08 - The NIACC women also came away with a Victory Saturday afternoon. The women were lead by a very close second and third place finish between Kacy Nehowig (19:59.7) and Konnie Keifer (19:59.8), and a fourth place finish by Monica Garcia (20:32). The cross country teams have this coming weekend off and will compete again September 20th at the St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield, MN. Women's Results.

08/30/08 - The NIACC men were victorious Saturday at the 15th Annual Mustang Gallop in Cedar Rapids with an average team time of 16:59. Sophomore Juan Rodriguez had a strong first place finish with a time of 16:29. NIACC's Freshman Casey Robertson really stepped it up and secured himself a second place finish for the Trojans with a time of 16:29. 08/30/08 - For the women, NIACC had a strong fifth place finish Saturday in a tough field competing with Coe, Cornell, and Grand View. Sophomore Kacy Nehowig, the leader for the NIACC women, finished ninth with a time of 16:48. Fellow teammate Konnie Keifer ran a good race and earned a nineteenth place finish with a time of 17:18. 08/22/08 - Sophomores Kacy Nehowig and Juan Rodriguez led their respective teams to a 2nd place team finish at the region XI Time Trial. Both runners finished individually in the top 5 with Nehowig finishing second in the women’s race in a time of 22:37 and Rodriguez finishing 5th in the men’s 5k race in 17:00. The North Iowa Area Community College cross country program had a strong season in 2007 and with a deep class of newcomers, both the men’s and women’s teams have legitimate shots to improve upon their third-place finishes in the Region XI meet. more
