Laurel Murphy set a new record in the 60 hurdles (9.33) & TC Jokumsen in the long jump (6.76m)

 

Other highlights:

Garty Taye 60 meters 6^th

Raleigh Morgan 5^th 1000 meters and 7^th in the mile

Casey Robertson 4^th 3000 meters

Emily Mujica set a new women’s team record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:28.91

 

Laurel Murphy won the women’s 55 meter hurdles

 

Raleigh Morgan was 2^nd in the men’s 1000

 

Josh Willert was 2^nd in the men’s 400

600 meters- Becky Dahn

 

Women’s 4x800 will also compete at nationals- Emily Mujica, Monica Garcia, Marielle Svardh, Hannah Poolman.

The four athletes ran the open 800, and their composite time is good enough for the 4x800 standard.

 

Laurel Murphy set a new team record and finished 17^th place overall one place out of making finals to qualify for nationals.

Indoor Season Opener

 

01/20/09 - The NIACC Trojans opened up their season at UNI this past weekend in Cedar Falls. Some of the top finishers for the lady Trojans were Hannah Poolman (Charles City) and Marielle Svardh (Sweden) who placed 4th (2:37.47) and 6th (2:41.59) in the 800 meters respectively.  Becky Dahn (Lake Mills) placed 5th (1:02.53) in the 400 meter dash while teammate Emily Mujica (Mason City) placed 9th (1:50.09) in the 600 meter dash. A 9th place finish in the 1000 meter run (6:03.44) was earned by Konnie Keifer  (Garner) and Laurel Murphy (Des Moines) finished 11th (9.96) in the 60 meter hurdles.

For the men, the Trojan's top runners were Torey Stallsmith (Charles City) and Zach McDill (Mt. Vernon) who placed 1st (2:09.07) and 2nd (2:12.20) respectively in the 800 meter run.  Raleigh Morgan ( Shoreview)  finished 4th (4:40.68) in the 1 mile run, and 7th (2:48.76) in the 1000 meter run. Brandon Leibold (Ames) with a 6th place spot (9:35.26) in the 3000 meter run, while Josh Willert (Britt) placed 8th (52.95) in the 400 meter dash, and 10th (6.22m) in the long jump.
