O'Brien, Wyborny lead Trojans at Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE (April 14, 2008) – NIACC’s women’s golf team placed fifth, while the men placed eighth at the Iowa Central Invite on Monday.

The women’s team shot 387, led by Brittany O’Brien with 94. Trisha Muhlenbruch, Carly Wilson, and Nicole Wilson rounded out the round for NIACC shooting 95, 98, and 100 respectively. The women’s meet was won by DMACC with a 335, and Savannah Krull of DMACC won individual honors with a 76.

The NIACC men’s team placed eighth with a 334, 33 strokes behind meet winner Kirkwood Community College. Steven Wyborny had the best round for NIACC, shooting 81, while Greg Engels and Eliot Sherriff had 84. Jason Urdahl was NIACC’s last scorer with a 85. Kirkwood’s Matt Berg had the best round in the men’s competition with a 70.

NIACC travels to Ottumwa to take part in the Community 1st Credit Union Spring Invitational, which is hosted by Indian Hills Community College.
