Urdahl finishes 11th, team travels to Fort Dodge this weekend

COUNCIL BLUFFS (March 30, 2008) – The NIACC women’s and men’s golf teams started their seasons on Sunday with sixth and seventh place finishes respectively at Iowa Western’s Reiver Classic.

Brittany O’Brien turned in the best score for the women, shooting 90, and finishing in a tie for 11th place individually. Three other Trojans shot less than 100, Nicole Wilson shot a 96 and Carly Wilson and Kayli Jones both shot 98’s. But the team shot 382, finishing 43 strokes off of meet winner DMACC.

The men’s team finished the seventh out of nine teams, shooting 342 behind an 81 mark from Jason Urdahl, putting him at 11th place individually. Steve Wyborny shot an 84, Sam Wetter and Greg Engels finished their rounds with 88. The Trojans finished 30 strokes behind meet winner Southeast Community College of Nebraska.

Both teams will travel to Fort Dodge to take part in the Grand View Classic at the Fort Dodge Country Club this weekend.
