Entrepreneurship: The practice of starting new organizations, particularly new businesses, generally in response to identified opportunities.
Entrepreneur: A person who takes on the financial risk of the initiation, operation and management of a business venture.
Entrepreneurs are participants, not observers; players, not fans. And to be an entrepreneur is to be an optimist, to believe that with the right amount of time and money, you can do anything.
Entrepreneurs are driven not by the need to make money, but by the need to make their dreams a reality.
The Entrepreneurship Academy is an educational partnership between the NIACC John Pappajohn Entrepreneurship Center (JPEC) and your school district.
The Entrepreneurship Academy provides students with an understanding of the many facets of entrepreneurship. Students will learn the process of identifying a business opportunity. The curriculum provides students with tools to evaluate the feasibility of a new venture and to identify the resources for assisting an entrepreneur during the start-up phase of the business. Through the Business Internship course, NIACC works to combine classroom instruction with practical experience.
