NIACC Will Host Soccer Camps
The NIACC Academy Soccer Club will hold a Spring Break Soccer Camp March 15 to March 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the NIACC Recreation Center for soccer players between the ages of 6 and 14. Campers will attend technical and tactical sessions where they will focus on fundamental skills for the game of soccer. Registration for the Spring Break Soccer camp costs $40.

North Iowa Area Community College invites the public to attend its Agricultural and Industrial Open House on Monday, March 22, in the Buettner Careers Building and Murphy Manufacturing Technology Center on the NIACC campus from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

NIACC Provides Lead Safe Renovator Training
Pursuant to an Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) ruling on November 2009, all contractors who work on property built before 1978 must now become certified as a Lead Safe Renovator (LSR). To provide assistance for area contractors who will need to comply with this ruling, North Iowa Area Community College will offer both the 8-hour LSR initial training and certification course along with the 4-hour LSR refresher course.

NIACC Awarded Iowa Alliance for Wind Innovation and Novel Development Grant
The Iowa Alliance for Wind Innovation and Novel Development (IA WIND) has awarded North Iowa Area Community College a grant in the amount of $54,995 for the College’s IA Wind project. IA WIND was impressed with the proposal and looks forward to the educational benefit it will have on wind energy education in the State of Iowa.

NIACC Plans a Gardening Seminar for March 25
North Iowa Area Community College will host a Gardening Seminar on Thursday, March 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will offer participants an opportunity to learn from educators and local gardening specialists as well as get an early start on the gardening season in North Iowa.
