
Many North Iowans are writing their own success stories with the help of Mercy Heart Center’s Change of Heart Balanced Lifestyle program. Stories like losing over 50 pounds and keeping it off, not having to take blood pressure medication anymore, regaining self-esteem and self-confidence and enjoying improved relationships.
Change of Heart is a program promoting cardiovascular wellness and healthy, well-balanced lifestyles. The program takes a mind, body, spirit approach to making positive lifestyle changes. Focus areas include heart disease risk reduction, nutrition, physical activity, the change process, and healthy relationships. Fitness assessments, cholesterol blood screenings, cooking classes, supermarket tour, dining out field trip, and walking club are just a few of the activities and benefits.
Change of Heart is a program of self-discovery and being the best that you can be. It’s about learning how to improve your health and enjoy life more! Be proactive! Improve your health and have fun at the same time! Be more active! Laugh more! Make new friends. Share ideas. Do something different. Learn more about yourself. Have fun!
Sessions are held weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa West Campus. The 11-month program will start on January 8, 2002.
